I have seen numerous things but they don't say who accused who and it sounds like Godfrey also accused John Singleton of witchcraft before he went to jail. I really want some clarification on this . The History of the Town of Hampton mentions a John Godfrey who died in 1697 and married Mary Cox. That John Godfrey was the son of a local deacon and lived in Hampton. He wasn't a wandering herdsman.
